Merry and Light

With what I hold most dearly to my heart,
I bestow upon you,
life's inheritance.

I've seen,
yet wish to have forgotten,
been beaten mercilessly over a splintered seat,
and nearly hung for my silence.

The wagging of tongues,
warmly whistle,
while perfumed ladies grovel at the feet of rotten men.

Eloquence has been all but forgotten,
save for the town drunk,
and penniless beggar.

Their hideousness is a thing of beauty,
in that they remain honest and truthful to their character.

There's nothing more distasteful,
than a person who refuses to believe the truth,
that which reflects sparingly back at them.

I've seen many of folk cover their vanities,
in fear that their darkened souls will be trapped.

An abrasive form of truth,
standing before them,
while the body remains a hollowed, diseased corpse.

I pray for the wicked,
and sing to the dead.

With what I hold most dearly to my heart,
I bestow upon you,
life's inheritance.

Wiggle Wave Goodbye

I've spent a great deal of my life running.

Inside my head there are countless possibilities.

A multitude of fears reacts with intelligence,
and yet I can't seem to break free from the clay like quicksand beneath my feet.

We all run.

It's the fight vs. flight.

Standing up to the consequences,
is that pivotal make or break.

Who cares if we puzzle what our lives have become?

Just don't forget to dream with your eyes open.
